I played the 100K tournament on lock today. I finished 259th out of 1076 with the above hand. I also played the 10K guaranteed on carbon and lost with KK to AQ on there early in the tournament.
The 100K was paying 193.68 for 126th and 19368.00 for 1st.
I have 1 more ticket for another shot at it. Maybe I can make it to the money next time.
I was thinking I had played the above hand correctly by calling the all in, knowing the last person to act would call with any 2 cards. His VPIP was above 50% and he loved playing any time I got involved in a pot. Then I was going to go all in on the flop.
ReplyDeleteAfter thinking more about the hand I wonder if I should have shoved preflop to get the that person to fold. I knew he would not fold the flop as he would have pot odds to call my all in bet. He was a super luckbox and I wanted to get as much of his money as I could as he sucked out earlier on me when he went all in with 55 to my 10 10 and caught a 5 to keep him in the tournament.
Had I won that hand I would probably have had a deep run in the tournament. If I only took out the small stack I would have still had to claw and fight to make the money.
In hands like this you make the choice to play to win or play to stay alive. I increased my risk for a greater reward and it bit me in the butt.
